W/E 21.10.23 - Abingdon Marathon plus half marathons galore

First up on this weeks review are our runners in the longer distance races from over the weekend; up in theLake Districtthe Powles family took on the Langdale Half Marathon on Saturday – set in the heart of the Lakes with gradients reaching 1:3 in places; Dave & Kim made it safely around in a time of 2:25:45 whilst enjoying the scenic course.

We stay with the half marathon distance, albeit in a slightly sunnier clime, where Josh Brown travelled to the Spanish city of Valencia – Josh flew around in an amazing time of 87:47 (PB) at the Valencia Half Marathon 2023 achieving a new personal best over the distance.

Back in England and out west we had two members running in the The Abingdon Marathon in Oxfordshire; first home for WAC was Louise McDonnell in a fantastic time of 2:59:54, breaking the three hour mark again and finishing 2nd lady home and first V35. As reported on Sunday – the marathon man himself ‘Gavin the great’ finished his ‘12 marathons in 12 months’ challenge – crossing the line in at time of 4:33:37. Great work all! #TeamWAC
