W/E 20.07.2024 - Wibbly Wobbley Log Jog, Olympic Park 10k & Flying 5k

Now back to this weekend and we firstly look at the Saturday events from this week before the 10th Sportlink Specialist Sports Ltd race of the 2024 GP series from Sunday;

**Wibbly Wobbly Log Jog**

The extremely popular event hosted by Brandon Fern Hoppers at 🌳High Lodge, Thetford Forest - Forestry England 🌳was attended by 7 WAC runners – first home for WAC were Kerry MacRae, Pete Sharpe & Christina Sharpe all completing the 5 mile (ish) course in a time of 48:56. Next home were Julia Kennelly (52:22), Tracy Stevens (54:06), Rachael Lockwood & Lyn Lyn Ottaway (54:39). Well done all! 🙌🏻

**Olympic Park 10k**

A small group of WACcers headed down to the Olympic Park on Saturday morning for a 10k around Stratford hosted by RunThrough.co.uk . First back was Eloise Peek (43:11) followed by Kevin Simpson (46:53), Kevin Denmark (49:30) & Lewis Grimes (54:17). Kevin Denmark collecting another age category placing, finishing 1st 🥇M65 – Well done KD & your crew!🙌🏻

**Flying 5k**

The 10th race in the series and the new 5k event hosted by Coltishall Jaguars Races, took place this Sunday – one lap around the✈️ ex-RAF base’s airfield✈️ – first home for WAC in the warm conditions was Matthew Webster (16:50) followed by Ben Beynon (17:17) & Chris Gay (17:46). First WAC females were Kate Gooding (19:25), the returning Louise McDonnell (19:49) & Lisa Greengrass (21:22).

The previously mentioned warm conditions looked like they took their toll on the runners as no PBs were registered however there were plenty of age category placings to celebrate; Billy Wheeler 2nd 🥈M50-54 (17:57), Chris Bullock 3rd 🥉M50-54 (18:16), Kate Gooding 3rd Female overall🏆🥉, Ian Moore 3rd 🥉M55-59 (19:31), Louise McDonnell 1st 🥇F45-49, Yitzhak Ben-aroya 1st 🥇M65-69 (20:21), Kevin Frazer 3rd 🥉M60-64 (20:59), Lisa Greengrass 2nd 🥈F45-49, Claire Brown 1st 🥇F60-64 (21:31), Stephen Dady 2nd 🥈M70-74 (23:00), Graham Walsh 3rd 🥉M75+ (24:23) & Eva Osborne 2nd 🥈F75+ (30:40). Additionally our Veteran Female team took the team prize – the team comprising of Kate Gooding, Louise McDonnell & Lisa Greengrass. 🥇🥇🥇
