W/E 15.03.25 - Essex 20 & Inter counties match

Last up on our weekly review – more 🇩🇪Norfolk🇩🇪 vest for the team to celebrate;

**Inter Counties match - Essex 20**

The event hosted by ATW at the ✈️Debden airfield✈️, takes in 5 laps of the route on the airbase and included the inter counties match, where WAC had 6 representatives across both gender teams of 4. Only a week after representing Athletics Norfolk at the XC championships, Juliette Watkinson was joined on the Female Norfolk Road Running team by Harriet Carr, Louise McDonnell & Kate Gooding for an all-encompassing Female WAC team. Within the men’s team, half were WAC representative via Kyle Brooks & Chris Gay.

First home on the day was Kyle Brooks (CR🏅PB🎖️ 1:53:51) who was 14th overall; followed by Chris Gay (CR🏅-1:57:56), Harriet Carr (2:12:27), Louise McDonnell (CR🏅PB🎖️ 2:13:36), Juliette Watkinson (2:18:29) & Kate Gooding (2:29:20). Both teams finished 6th place – most importantly finishing one place above Suffolk!

Also within the race we had three other representatives; David Houghton , Todd Lake (CR🏅AGPB🎖️) & Claire Brown, finishing in times of 2hr 12min 9sec, 2hr 20min 45sec & 2hr 35min 43sec respectively.

There were an abundance of 🚨shiny🚨 new Personal bests and 4 new club records – Our runners that achieved PBs were: - Kyle Brooks (CR🏅PB🎖️), Louise McDonnell (CR🏅PB🎖️) & Todd Lake (CR🏅AGPB🎖️). The same three were also joined by Chris Gay (CR🏅) in achieving new club records🏅 in their respective age categories! Well done you four! 🙌🏻

Our age category placing runners on the day were; Harriet Carr 3rd🥉F35-39, Louise McDonnell 3rd🥉F45-49, & Claire Brown 1st F60🥇. Well done you three and the rest of you that ran! 🙌🏻
