W/E 08.02.25 - Valentine's 10k

For this weekly review we look at one of the most popular road races on the calendar;

**❤️Valentines 10k❤️**

We had 56 members commute over to Easton College (we won’t mention the Highways agency decision to close the A47 on the same weekend) for the brilliant 10k race hosted by Norfolk Gazelles. Our first WACer home on the day was the in-form Steven Mcnicholas, romping around in a brilliant time of 34:47 and finishing 23rd overall & 4th M40-44 home whilst setting a new Personal best🎖️ along the way. Steven was followed by Charlie Stringer (PB🎖️ - 35:05 ) & Chris Gay (35:41) to complete our first three runners home. Our first female home was Claire Kent in a brilliant time of 39:48, also setting a new Personal best🎖️ with her 8th place overall female finish. Claire was closely followed home by Louise McDonnell (40:04) and Eloise Peek (PB🎖️ - 42:32) to complete our top three female runners. 🙌🏻

With decent running conditions and a lovely course, lots of our members took advantage and registered 🚨shiny🚨 new Personal bests 🎖️& Age group PBs🎖️ also – New PBs were recorded by; Steven McNicholas (PB🎖️), Charlie Stringer (PB🎖️), Gareth Seville (PB🎖️ - 36:59), Ben Smith (PB🎖️ - 39:33), Claire Kent (PB🎖️), Eloise Peek (PB🎖️), Claire Woodcroft (PB🎖️ - 42:46), Thomas Sandy (PB🎖️ - 46:50), Fay Starling (PB🎖️ - 53:45) & Becky Stringer (PB🎖️ - 54:44). Our new Age group PBers were; David Houghton (AGPB🎖️ - 37:42), Christina Sharpe (AGPB🎖️ - 49:46), Rachele Kelsall (AGPB🎖️ - 50:33), Lisa Kemp (AGPB🎖️ - 54:43), Louise Victoria  Boyce (AGPB🎖️ - 58:27) & Jo Rayner (AGPB🎖️ - 01:02:28) – Well done to you all! 🙌🏻

Congratulations also to our Age category winners; David Houghton 2nd🥈 M50-54, Billy Wheeler 3rd🥉 M50-54 (37:55), Louise McDonnell 1st🥇 F45-49 (40:04), Tim Seville 1st🥇 M65-69 (41:16), Claire Brown 1st🥇 F60-64 (44:53) & Graham Walsh 1st🥇 M75+ (50:31). 🙌🏻
