W/E 08.03.25 - Lisbon Half Marathon & Mike Groves 10k

Finally the last two events to catch up within our weekly review – the first event includes a few air-miles!

**EDP Lisbon Half Marathon 2025** 

Three WAC members travelled over to the 🇵🇹Portuguese🇵🇹 capital to take part in one of the major SuperHalfs event – The two (seperately) well-travelled members of the club, Keith Blake and Anneke Cook were joined by Katy Whiting for this lovely Half marathon event. Keith was first home in a time of 1hr 46min 35sec and was followed home by Mother and daughter paring of Anneke & Katy, who finished in a time of 1hr 57min 31sec. Well done you three, hopefully you had decent time away!🙌🏻

And lastly…….

**Mike Groves 10K**

The well-established event hosted by Coltishall Jaguars Running Club, left its spiritual home of RAF Coltihsall this year and relocated to Wroxham Barns. The second 10k of the new Sportlink Grand Prix Series took in a large segement of the Wroxham 5k route and the route was everything it was described to be – fast and flat. Even though there are the odd areas of incline, the downhill start and finish make it worthwhile and was hosted superbly well at the new home!🙌🏻

16 WAC members travelled up to North Norfolk – first WACers home was David Houghton in a time of 39:34, followed quickly by Harriet Carr (39:50) & Eloise Peek (PB🎖️ - 41:50). Elsewhere James Heaney (PB🎖️ – 47:49) & Kevin Denmark (52:25) completed the WAC male top three and Susan Guest was our third lady back in a time of 51:21.🙌🏻

🚨Shiny🚨 new Personal Bests were register on the day by; Eloise Peek (PB🎖️), James Heaney (PB🎖️) & Jo Rayner (PB🎖️ 60:51). Congratulations also to David Houghton & Harriet Carr for their respective 1st place🥇 M50-54 & 2nd Female overall 🏆🥈finishes; Harriet also part of our winning Senior female team🥇🥇🥇 comprising also of Eloise Peek & Phoebe Davis (53:25). Congratulations to the above and well done to all that ran on the day! 🙌🏻
