W/E 07.09.2024 - RUN NORWICH 2024!

Next up on our weekly review was the big event from the weekend: -

**Run Norwich 2024**

The very popular event ran by the 🟡🟢 Community Sports Foundation 🟢🟡includes the annual gazebo outing in Chapelfield Gardens for pre & post-race socialising - Officially we had 99 members that laced up their shoes on Sunday, although I am pretty confident there were a few additional new members (or existing members that didn’t put their club down correctly) which meant we would have had over 100 members running around the City!

First back for WAC was the impressive Aiden Banfield in a time of 33:04 (PB🎖️), finishing 14th in an extremely strong field. Aidan was followed home by Kevin Holland (34:48) & Charlie Stringer (36:02). Our first female WAC home was Harriet Carr, finishing 7th female in a time of 38:43, followed by Juliette Watkinson (14th female – 40:30), Lacey Bareham (15th female – 40:35) & Claire Kent (19th female – 40:58) meaning we had four runners in the Top 20 females home.

We had 7 brilliant 🚨Personal bests🚨 were registered on the day – Aidan Banfield (PB 🎖️), Tom Waterfall (PB 🎖️– 39:03), Ben Smith (PB 🎖️– 42:29), Matthew Adams (PB 🎖️– 42:33), Claire Woodcroft (PB 🎖️– 43:47), Becky Stringer (PB 🎖️– 58:51) & Kelly Starling (PB 🎖️– 65:52) – Amazing work on the undulating second half of that course ⛰!

Along with our PBs, we had 8 age category winners: - Kevin Holland 1st 🥇M45, Charlie Stringer 3rd 🥉F40, Chris Bullock 3rd 🥉M50 (38:10), Jet Watkinson 1st 🥇F40, Tim Seville 1st 🥇M65 (43:12), Alexandra Ely 2nd 🥈F45 (43:16), Claire Woodcroft 3rd 🥉F40 & Claire Brown 3rd 🥉F60 (46:48).

Some amazing running from all our WACcers that ventured around the course on Sunday; however special mention to Sarah Cole (+ bump👶🏼), who completed the course at over 37 weeks pregnant! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
