W/E 05.10.24 Pt 1 - UTMB Nice, Weaver's Way Ultra, Cardiff Half Marathon & Town & Gown 10k

Up first on our weekly review we look back to the two events held on Saturday;

**UTMB Nice 54km**
First up from Saturday Josh Castlo-Hall travelled to the South of 🇫🇷France🇫🇷 for the 🏔 UTMB World Series 🏔 event in Nice with the website describing the race as; A demanding route, starting from the legendary 🏔Col d'Eze🏔 and finishing on the Promenade des Anglais, the 50K course combines the most beautiful scenery and trails that the 🏔Côte d'Azur🏔 and its surrounds have to offer. The 54kM route also takes in 2100m of vertical gain! Josh completed the course in a time of 5:58:00 and finished 62nd overall - Well done Josh! 🙌🏻
Staying on the trail Ultra runners, however slightly closer to home;

**Weavers' Way ultras 2024**
The brilliant event hosted by Boghopper Races Ltd has two separate distances on the day – runners can either take part in the 50mile event from Acle, along the trail of Weavers’ Way, to the finish in Cromer or the 50km event starting in Stalham and finishing at the same destination. The routes follow the Weavers’ Way along the 🏞River Bure🏞 through the towns of Stalham and North Walsham to the beautiful estates of Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall ending at the iconic Cromer Pier⛱. We had six runners taking part – first home was Rachele Kelsall (6:37:35) followed by Caroline Pocock, Julia Kennelly & Kim Reader who all made it home in a time of 6:39:10. Next home were Rachel Chester (7:07:27) & Lian Penson (7:08:30). Well done you all! 🙌🏻
From the Sunday we have three events to report on; first up we travel across to Wales;

**Cardiff Half Marathon**
We had three members travel over to the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿Welsh🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 capital for one of the six ‘SuperHalf’ marathons – the fast and flat takes in the scenery of the South Wales city. First home for WAC was Doug Hustler (PB🎖️) in a time of 91:06, followed by Keith Blake (1:46:24) and Janine Daynes (2:31:50). Well done you three! 🙌🏻

Next event up is slightly closer to home;

**Cambridge Town & Gown 10k**
The popular inter-city 10k was attended by 3 WACers – Claire Kent was the first back in a time of 40:39 followed by Niall Scott (60:02) & Paul Timson (73:04). Well done you three! 🙌🏻
