W/E 04.11.23 - Coastal 10ks

Next up on the review of the week was two 10k races from the coast.

** East Coast 10k** First we travel to the Norfolk destination for the East Coast 10K hosted by Great Yarmouth Road Runners – 20 WAC members made it across to Yarmouth. First home for WAC was Kevin Holland in a time of 33:49, finishing a brilliant 3rd overall. First female WACer home was Kate Gooding in a Personal best time of 40:36, finishing 2nd overall. Kate was joined by Amanda Gray (PB) & Tracey Salisbury (PB) in achieving nice shiny PBs with brilliant times of 64:04 & 76:36 respectively. Our placing members were Kevin Holland 3rd overall, Kate Gooding 2nd overall, Yitzhak Ben-aroya 1st M65+, Claire Brown 1st F60-64 & Graham Walsh 3rd M65+.

Also our Men’s Veteran Team came 2nd in the over 40’s team prize - well done to Kevin Holland, Yitzhak Ben-aroya and Kevin Frazer (44:15). Our Veteran ladies went one better and came away with 1st prize in the over 40 category - well done to Kate Gooding, Claire Brown and Julia Kennelly (54:16).

**Adnams Southwold 10k** A little further down the coast in Suffolk we had 10 members take on the Southwold Adnams 10K – first WACers home were the ‘Mr & Mrs’ duo of Alexandra Ely & Steve Ely – Alex pipping Steve on chip time, by 1 whole second, with a brilliant time of 41:25, finishing 4th overall. Both Alex and Steve finished 1st in their age category, F40-49 & M50-59 respectively. Congratulations to Kelly Starling (PB) for your brilliant Personal best of 67:59 – well done Kelly! #TeamWAC
