W/E 01.03.25 - Marriots Way Half & Marathon event

Next up our weekly review and completing our XC review of the last month & a half is the most recent XC event;

**Marriots Way Half & Marathon event**

The event taken over by Boghopper Races Ltd  took place on the first weekend of March and starts at either Sloughbottom Park, for the marathon distance, or Whitwell station for the half; however both events traverse along the beautiful Marriots Way and finish at Aylsham Town Hall.

We had 6 WACers in the Half marathon event and 2 within the full distance – first home in the marathon event was Matthew Adams  finishing in a time of 3hr 55min 36sec and achieving a 16th place finish. Matthew was followed home by Lian Penson who completed the course in a time of 5hr 25min 7sec – Well done to the both of you! 🙌🏻

In the half marathon length event, first home was our very own XC Captain, Tony Beales , who charged home in a time of 1hr 42min 42 sec for a 14th place finish. Tony was joined over the finish line by Fay Starling (2:16:42), Michelle Sadler (2:18:51), Caroline Pocock & Jules Kennelly  (2:19:20) along with Sara Shorten (2:23:08) – Well done to all of you! 🙌🏻
