W/E 11.05.2024 - GT Yarmouth 5mile R2, Ispwich Twilight 5k, Norfolk track meet & Snowdonia Half marathon

This week we look back firslty from Race 2 of the Great Yarmouth 5 mile series hosted by Great Yarmouth Road Runners.

**Great Yarmouth 5mile – Race 2 **

In proper WAC take over style, mainly travelling for the promise of chips🍟 afterwards, we had 37 members run on the ☀️sunny Wednesday by the seaside🏖!!

First home for WAC was the ever youthful Kevin Holland, storming around in a time of 27:01, followed by Charlie Stringer (28:16) & Chris Bullock (29:25) to complete our WAC 1st, 2nd & 3rd home on the evening. First female home was Alison Armstrong in a brilliant time of 32:01, followed by Claire Kent (32:38) and Jo Delf (32:40).

Shiny new Personal Bests were register on the evening by Dan Brocklehurst (PB 🎖️– 30:32), David Powles (PB 🎖️– 32:50), Michelle Sadler (PB 🎖️– 46:42) & Jo Rayner (PB 🎖️– 47:51). Well done you four and also another massive congratulation to Todd Lake, who set another club record 🏅with his time of 30:43 in the M60-64 category.

Additionally, both our Senior & Veteran female teams won their respective team prizes – the senior team comprising of Claire Kent (32:38), WAC debutant Lacey Bareham (32:57) & Eloise Peek (34:36).🥇🥇🥇 Our veteran team comprised of Alison Armstrong, Jo Delf & Claire Brown. 🥇🥇🥇

**Ipswich Twilight 5k**

No pictures of the event, however well done to Steven McNicholas (PB 🎖– 16:52), who was first home followed by Ross Palgrave (18:06) & Todd Lake (CR 🏅– 18:07) who set yet another club record since joining the club. Well done you three!

**Athletic Norfolk Track meet**

Well done to Juliette Watkinson who set a new shiny F40 club record🏅 of 19:14 over the 5000m on the track – great stuff Jet!

**Snowdonia Half marathon**

Billed as ‘One of the UK’s toughest Half marathons’ and by all sounds of it – it was! Our extremely well-travelled member Keith Blake travelled to the Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🏔🗻mountain range🗻🏔 to take on the half marathon race – completing the race in 2:05:20. Well done Keith!
